Unlock The potential of your organization through Greater EQ

The Emotionally Intelligent Leader

Emotional Intelligence in any organization begins at the top, the President and CEO. If it is not there and exists anywhere else, it's a fluke. But what if it weren't a fluke? What if high Emotional Intelligence were integral to your organization's strategy? What difference would it make?

As a leader in your organization, you must ask yourself, would my organization benefit if we had a higher Emotional Intelligence? And if so, what would that look like?

Before you answer that, check out these questions. (Heads up. They may get a little uncomfortable.)

  • Do I clearly demonstrate the behavior, attitude, conviction, and commitment I expect of my C-level team members?

  • Do I effectively and persuasively communicate to bring my team together and work hard to achieve our objectives?

  • Am I open, honest, and forthright?

  • Do I hold myself accountable to the vision, values, principles, and mission of this organization?

  • Am I accountable to my team and organization?

  • Am I accessible to the leaders, managers, and employees who work here?

  • Do  I encourage and foster a work culture of safety, belonging, contributing, high commitment, hard work, and building value for everyone here?

  • Do others see me as a person of integrity who is fair and just and gives second chances when based on our values and principles?

The point of these questions is clear. Emotional Intelligence begins with you. To fake Emotional Intelligence is an oxymoron and an absurdity, though some, no doubt, attempt it. Nevertheless, it must be authentic, or it is nothing.

On the other hand, genuine emotional warmth, understanding, and wisdom, combined with excellent professional skills and exceptional leadership abilities, are an irresistible combination to lead any organization.

Are you there yet? You may be tempted to say yes. The fact is, less than 10% of leaders and organizations are.

If your organization is not performing at the desired level, the solution may not be more technical training but more Emotional Intelligence.

The Difference of Emotionally Intelligent Teams

Are Your Leaders, Managers and Teams EQ Bright?

Now, ask yourself:

  • How well does my C-level team work and communicate with each other?

  • Are there power plays, unnecessary politics, hidden agendas, and drama?

  • Does my team work at a high level of responsibility to get their work done with excellence and on time?
  • Do they lead by example and readily assist their team members in performing and becoming their best?

  • Do they build teams of cohesion, high performance, and function?

  • Do they exemplify our organization's values and principles?

  • Do they respect and support their team members?

  • Do they work to earn their team's trust and respect each day?

  • Are they leading and managing their people and responsibilities to build people, products, services, and this organization?

  • Do they do this without fear and intimidation?

What if these points accurately describe your organization's leadership and teams? What would be the difference in the workplace, your day-to-day operations, and your bottom line?
